July 2025 TJC Standards Update: Is Your Organization Compliant?
The Joint Commission (TJC) has released its updated standards effective July 2025. For many behavioral health and human service providers, that means revisiting—and revising—key policies to remain in compliance.
At Circa Behavioral Healthcare Solutions, we’ve already reviewed the updates and narrowed the changes down to just five core policy areas for our clients. Our team is actively updating these sections in the national manual to keep every organization survey-ready.
What’s Changing?
Here are the five areas affected by the July 2025 TJC updates:
-
COM-101: Changes related to reporting updates (ownership, services, licensure) to TJC within 30 days.
-
EDU-103: Updated hand hygiene goals under the National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG).
-
OPS-110: Major changes in emergency management planning, training, and disaster response.
-
NUR-101: Infection control updates that now require broader implementation of prevention practices and risk tracking.
-
CLI-104: New expectations for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) assessments and addiction treatment history collection.

How Circa Can Help
We’re currently updating all affected sections across the national policy manual. That means you don’t need to start from scratch or lose time scrambling before your next survey.
We provide:
-
Full review and update of all affected policies
-
Quick turnaround so you stay compliant
-
Support for staff training and documentation
-
Optional add-ons: mock survey prep, policy implementation, EM plan enhancements
Why This Matters Now
TJC can deny accreditation if you’re not compliant, especially if changes like ownership or services aren’t reported within the 30-day window. That’s a risk no provider should take.
